Since every top is unique, detailed information including
plans, specs or hand drawings are always
helpful and may be
required before we can provide a quote for your custom top.
Square foot
pricing can sometimes be provided as a ball-park figure, but detailed information is required
for an actual quote.
You
may use the Request A Quote
form on our web-site to provide information about the top you are interested
in (or
feel free to call us at (512) 894-0464). Specs or drawings may be e-mailed to us at
[email protected] or you may fax them to us at (512) 894-0209.
We will email you a written quote once we receive all the
necessary information.

Detailed plans, specs, or scaled drawings enable us to visualize
your top, allow us to price your project accurately, and help to prevent
communication problems.
When providing specs, plans or drawings, please observe the
following:
-
Drawings should be done to scale, using a ruler.
-
Lengths and widths should be shown in inches.
-
Corners that are not square should be shown.
-
Identify any sides of the top that will be adjacent to a wall or
cabinet.
-
Show the position of any sink, stove top, or other integrated
option in your top.
-
Fax your specs to us at (512) 894-0209 or email them to us at
[email protected].
Imperfect angles and roughness in the wall do not
have to cause problems with your custom top. Shapes and cuts which look quite difficult
can be transferred to your solid wood top by our skilled craftsmen. To
do this, we need an accurate template. Templates are not required for
every top (we will discuss your individual needs).
In order to achieve the
best results possible and to minimize the risk of errors, please
observe the following instructions when making your templates:
-
The template must be made of hardboard / chipboard or
non-shrinking card stock in the exact measurements of the top.
-
Do not overlap templates.
-
Mark the template with readable and well defined
front and rear edge symbols.
-
Show the position of any sink, stove top, or knife
block in relation to the cabinet below.
-
Show the center line for all cut-outs and integrated
items (i.e., sinks, stove tops, knife blocks, granite inserts, etc).
-
A measurement sketch should accompany the templates. The sketch
should show lengths and widths and corners that are not square.
-
Tops are made according to templates.
-
Templates are kept in our shop for three months, after which
time they are destroyed.
Note: In order to achieve the best results possible, you should contact
a skilled countertop installer. Templates may be sent
to us by mail, UPS, or Federal Express.
