There are numerous ways to customize your solid wood top to fit your specific needs. The following are just a few of the things you can do to make your island or countertop unique and functional.

|
These inserts provide a heat resistant area in your counter or island top. They can also serve as a built-in surface for rolling pie crusts, kneading bread dough and other baking functions.

|||
|
These grids serve as a built-in hot plate on your counter or island top. They extend about 1/4" above the countertop and are removable for cleaning.
|
|||
|
Knife slots, knife blocks, or removable knife holders may be integrated into your counter or island top.
|
|||
|
Integrated drain boards help to ensure that moisture does not collect on your counter or island top. These routed drain boards may also be sloped for extra protection.

|||
|
Wood countertops work well with all types of sinks (Drop-in, Undermount, or Farm Sinks). We recommend using a waterproof finish, such as Waterlox, when a sink is integrated into the countertop. Mineral oil finishes will also work, as long as you are diligent in the maintenance of the top. |
